- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
- Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish.
- In another bowl, combine pitted cherries with brown sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Spread over the crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture on top of the cherries.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before slicing.
