Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole milk (warm)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions
- Warm the milk until lukewarm, then sprinkle the yeast on top and let it froth for about five minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, melted butter, eggs, and the frothy yeast mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl while waiting for the dough to rise. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top and roll tightly from one end to another. Slice into equal pieces.
- Place slices in greased baking pans and let them rise again for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- While baking, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk for glazing consistency.
- Drizzle warm glaze over each roll before serving.
