Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 68 tbsp ice water
  • 1/2 cup fruit jam or filling of choice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  2. Gradually add ice water and mix until the dough holds together. Avoid overmixing.
  3. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into rectangles.
  5. Place a tablespoon of filling on half of the rectangles; moisten edges with water. Top with remaining rectangles and seal with a fork.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
