- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 6–8 tbsp ice water
- 1/2 cup fruit jam or filling of choice
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
- Gradually add ice water and mix until the dough holds together. Avoid overmixing.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick and cut into rectangles.
- Place a tablespoon of filling on half of the rectangles; moisten edges with water. Top with remaining rectangles and seal with a fork.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
