Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let it foam for about 5 minutes.
  2. Mix in melted butter, eggs, lemon zest, and juice until well blended.
  3. Gradually add flour while stirring until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, sprinkle with sugar mixed with lemon zest, and roll tightly into logs.
  7. Cut into rolls and place in a greased baking dish. Let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
