  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy)
  • 1 cup thick-cut pepperoni slices
  • 3 cups freshly shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 8 oz penne or rotini pasta
  • 2 cups pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup chopped bell peppers
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add chopped bell peppers and onions to the skillet; cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta with pizza sauce and meat mixture; mix well.
  5. Layer half of the pasta mixture in a greased baking dish. Top with half of the mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with pepperoni slices. Repeat for another layer.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
