  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 46 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove giblets from the turkey and rinse it under cold water; pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a bowl, combine melted butter with garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture under the skin and over the turkey.
  4. Stuff the cavity with onion quarters and lemon wedges.
  5. Place the turkey breast-side up on a roasting rack in a pan; add chicken broth to the bottom.
  6. Roast for approximately 13 minutes per pound, basting every hour until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Let the turkey rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving.
