Instructions

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and sugar until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time until fully integrated into the mixture.
  4. Gradually mix in milk until smooth and thick.
  5. Divide batter between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pans before transferring to wire racks.
  6. While cooling, prepare instant pudding as per package instructions and refrigerate.
  7. Whip heavy cream in a chilled bowl until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  8. Assemble the cake by layering chocolate pudding between the cooled cake layers and topping with whipped cream frosting.
