  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, cubed
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cook Arborio rice according to package instructions until creamy and al dente; set aside to cool.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, sugar (optional), sesame oil (optional), and sliced green onions. Add ground beef and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the marinated beef until browned and cooked through; let cool slightly.
  4. Take a handful of cooled rice, flatten it, place a spoonful of beef mixture and mozzarella cheese in the center. Shape into balls.
  5. Dip each ball in beaten eggs followed by rolling them in panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.
